Overall Achieved Grade: First Class Honours

Nuclear Happiness

Year 4 · Solo Design Project · First Class Honours

Happiness is achieved when the body is in equilibrium, a state that is dependent on a strong circadian rhythm that repeats on a daily basis. Nuclear Happiness, (N)appy for short, aims to reverse depression and catapult sad people into a super-saturated version of life – biologically programming a reality that is guaranteed to feel better than anything they have ever experienced before. To facilitate the unprecedented energy requirements of light and colour therapy, this project utilises ground-breaking, net-zero, Nuclear Cell technology.

This design project was created in collaboration with the Norman Foster Foundation (NFF) and the Advanced Nuclear and Production Experts Group (ANPEG).

The Restorative Effects

of Virtual Scenery

Year 4 · Dissertation · Distinction

My master’s thesis aimed to create a stress-reducing internal environment that is able to rival the (previously) undefeated calming effects of being immersed in nature. Using virtual reality, this paper explores the greatest stress-reducing qualities of the outside world, by extracting, and abstractly superimposing these characteristics onto a windowless interior space, while also utilising chromotherapy and breathing techniques to enhance its effects.

O.G.E.R Themepark

Year 3 · Solo Design Project · First Class Honours

One Giant Emotional Rollercoaster (O.G.E.R.) is experienced within this matchmaking and social anxiety-curing theme park, that is designed to bring people together through targeted hormone release and trauma bonding.

The concept was created around the psychological and biological benefits of rollercoasters, including thrill ride therapy, and the trigger of phenylethylamine (PEA) - the hormone responsible for love-at-first-sight which is also released when you drop large distances.

Pigeon Paradise

Year 2 · Solo Design Project · First Class Honours

A pigeon racing loft that is located within the heart of a cooking school, located in Medina, Morocco. This zero-waste site uses an ancient Persian agricultural technique, that utilises pigeon excrement as fertiliser, in order to grow the crops needed for the traditional Moroccan recipes taught in the cooking school. Food scraps are also fed to the racing pigeons in order to fuel them for their long, tiring races.

Changes of State

Year 2 · Partner Design Project · First Class Honours

3D printed elements help uncover energy flux within London City Island in Canning Town. Frames from short-form videos have been superimposed to help determine wind flow states within specific points of the test site. This project helped detect problematic wind tunnelling through the residential blocks and highlighted tactics to help overcome the problem.

WeWeave Pavilion

Year 1 · Group Design Project · First Class honours

A deployable and interactive Pavilion structure, designed by me and a team of 7 people. The WeWeave Pavilion was originally created for the compulsory design module but was rebuilt for the ‘Colour Pavilion’ exhibition at Dulwich Picture Gallery, and underneath the Hackney Flyover for the Hackney Design Festival.
