The WeWeave Pavilion was designed and built by me and a team of 6 other students, to comply with the theme of ‘Tribal Gathering’ for my first-year compulsory design module. To play into the brief, the main body of the pavilion was created without screws or power tools, enabling external manipulation and extensions by members of the public. The interactive structure was first exhibited in Here East for the Bartlett 100 festival - which celebrated 100 years of The Bartlett School of Architecture. Following an enquiry by Dulwich Picture Gallery, it was dismantled and rebuilt for the ‘Colour Pavilion’ exhibition, alongside the work of designer Yinka Ilori. At this event, Hackney Arts Council requested for it to be rebuilt under The Flyover in Hackney Wick, for the Hackney Design Festival.
